Guys, it's not supposed to take longer to get ready than it is to play the bloody match.
PLEASE get mechs ready quickly, or we're gonna start getting a lot of grief from people, including me

yeah peeps, i've started dozing off during our pre-game prep. On this last one, i didn't even wake up, too! Fortunately, the game was canceled, but nevertheless, we ought to have mechs mostly preselected.

I concur and i have thought of Nurab's idea before that we should try to have mechs preselected before the match, the only problem with that is that many of us don't appear in coms until right at match time so i don't know how well we would be able to do that.

Not all of us can get on com's early, But i agree, even at the last minute it shouldn't take as long as it has been, we've all been playing a long time, it should only take 2 min to create a mech, get your weapon load out and do what it takes to get the tonnage ready for it. (example- wildcat 2 ac20's 4 heavy med- drop electronics drop armor put on weapons add heat sinks/elec/armor/speed as needed) done 1.3 min- take smoke break, and nap tell everyone else is ready.

haha i know
i think X should send most of our groups his variants with proper names
so he can say "go grab wildcat _____"
and we're fine

we really need to get on the ball with this because other groups are beginning to forfeit each other. WAR forfeit AC 15 minutes after a drop time because they were not clicked in yet and AC almost did that to us last night. I understand both teams are complete douches but i think everyone would agree with me that there are times it just takes WAAAY to long to be ready up and let's all be honest... when we drop, which team is 5 times out of 10 the last to ready up? US that is NOT an overstatement, it is NOT an exaggeration, we really need to have an idea in advance or we need to all have X's config's in advance so that all we need is our DC to call a mech out and BAM we got it.
and I can't pick up the slack every time we have no commanders. last night I sent my wife out for soda so we could watch movies. while she was gone I discovered nobody knew what was going on and we had a pl drop scheduled in 20 minutes...so I took charge. My wife returned with my soda I asked for and thought we were watching a movie...instead I was drop commanding until 11:30 I shouldn't have done that to my wife, but it was AC and it was either drop then or forfeit... next time i would be forfeitting, I hope everyone can understand that. I mean sure, if i have nothing planned, i probably would be playing anyways. I guess my point is that, for whatever reasons, nobody was responding anywhere and none of us had a heads up about it, so last night was almost a Skunk for us. it wasn't because I decided to ignore what little family actually cares about me...something I shouldn't have done. so next time it would have to be a skunk, else i'll be divorced.
which sucks lol

to be honest mate, let them skunk us. After we get kicked out of a few ladders, maybe people will start paying attention

"I understand both teams are complete douches..."
lol, waiting 30min for the other team to start a drop tends to make douches out of ppl

I've been raising cane about this and a few other things and have been roundly ignored for my troubles. frankly this may be what makes or breakes this group, it's no blasted fun waiting for Xavier to dole out mech assignments. I for one have several mech's for each weight class/match type ready. and if i have nothing it takes me about 1 minute to make somthing suited to the drop we have.

i'm inclined to say fuck it all and take a break from it all we shouldn't have to deal with drama and politics...but we do clan politics are about to become a very big issue...is this really the route we want to go i'm not sure, i don't really know but then again...the longer we "don't know" and nothing gets done, the longer things suck... but also, we need to consider new recruits and such and how things could affect them. Do we want to let our concerns sit and fester and eat at us until we become bitter? nah so i just answered my own question there. Darkstar I sent you a private message on here, ok. I believe you will find it very interesting.

and one issue that i feel should be addressed is battle coms posting i do it too much and we all cross over into each others matches and post i think we need to be more respectful of each others ladders unless we have agreements with each other or are sharing responsibilities. because it does get sort of annoying sometimes when someone posts on a battle you're handling or when they post about you in a battle. and that's something that we all do
also we need to make sure we communicate to each other what we are trying to schedule and when, because when several drops are in the air, it would be very easy for them to overlap each other when they are finally scheduled unless we make sure to let the other unit leads know when we are trying to schedule a match for. i almost scheduled a match for this wednesday and there happened to be a PL match that night...not sure how i did that, lol

Gun, on your last comment. All unit leads can see each others' BCs. before scheduling a match, just double check all the other ladders. I know the more ladders you have the harder it is to schedule.
Another thought, (someone else said something like this) maybe have one unit lead who does nothing but keeps track of scheduling on all ladders. OR make a league play caledar, that all units can see what matches are scheduled for (or trying to schedule (yes this would mean posting several dates for the same match)) that way each of you could see at a glance how things are looking for a certain day. This could also be used for players to know what happening and when. (if they visit the site) At some point it might even be opened up for players to post planned time off (vacation)....
MAN, I know I've typed this all out before... just where and when....

well I used to do that when I had a unit lead position so maybe DD should take over that job.

MAN, I know I've typed this all out before... just where and when.... Well, we discussed this on TS at one point, and was wondering if we could have the unit leads post the NEXT match's date and time on the channel name for that ladder. That way, we can read instantly when we have matches.
