Well what can I say, we rocked the 3vs3 world last night, with a mech smashes clash, against Wolf's Freelancers. Thanks goes out to Xavier and Deathly, and Tal for being on hand for the match. The first drop was Doom Mountain, which full of fire and fury, presented an exciting atmosphere to compete in, especially with the blinding lightening all around. Though we had the advantage several times, it came down to the last few seconds, all we needed was one last kill. And just as Xavier had our intended victim in his sites with weapons reloading, the drop came to an end. Leaving us just shy of the victory.
On the second drop, Tal, the volcano rim, grim reaper of the first drop stepped out so Deathly, could play. The map was Water Bowl, an arena of walls and water. We decided to have Deathly take the sniper, and X and I took the brawlers. It started off slow at first, except for Deathly's, precision sniping, tearing apart a Hellhoud piece by piece. Such a wonder it was to behold, that Xavier and I paused for a moment in awe. But our attention was drawn away when we noticed that, WF had finally had enough of Deathly's annoyance and began to move in on his position,. At that moment Xavier and I in defense, ran down the steep grade of the pit, across the water ways to intercept WF's attack. Very promptly we swept their offensive move aside and tore into them like lions on dead carcases. Then they all found themselves re-spawning with heads spinning. It was same situation through the rest of the drop, and up and down the map. We spent a good portion of it in or near our own spawn. Thanks to Xavier's prudent advise , we let them come to us so we could capitalize on our position and their mistakes. Then the battle moved away from our spawn back down the hill into the water. As Xavier, (who completely ripped holes through their onslaughts), and I wrestled it out in our Ursus and Hellhound. Deathy was at a distance still picking them apart with pin point accuracy. And WF just kept coming at us, which to their dismay did nothing but continue to add points to our score. In the final seconds I was able to fire the last death dealing blow on a downed Ursus, rubbing the stink of defeat in their faces. BANG! it was over. Score 25626 to 11177. Xavier's in his rip roaring Ursus scored nearly half of our teams score with 11286 with a ratio of 15-4.
For the last drop, the map was Snow Bound, a frozen tundra, where the only thing colder on the battlefield would be the shattered mechs of the opposing team littered across the terrain. This Drop required us to use our sniping capabilities, but we also knew that WF could not help but brawl, Deathly and Xavier took the snipers and I piloted the light but stout sniper defensive Puma. Again we took up position on a mountain crest and waited. But we noticed the I had forgot to set the the server to clear, instead it was on default, which meant it was fairly hazy and foggy at a distance.
With this, we asked if WF wanted to do a re-drop, they then decided to not re- drop. This I think added to their fall. Now instead of fighting at a distance, WF not having a sniper that was worth the metal he was driving was forced to move in on the offensive again. And did they. Deathly ripped up one side of their mechs and down the other, And Xavier tactfully drew them in, for the kill, I in my Puma ran defense several times, when Xavier found himself in a pickle, Their little Continuous beam Raven and speedy sniping Ursus were no match for the fast moving train wreck heading their way. Utilizing the time honored method of allowing the light mechs to rack up the points with the final blow, proved to be effective. I would be remiss not to mention that Deathly racked up more kills for us, then did WF's entire team, 10-1. We so overwhelmed them that at one point we considered simply backing off a bit and coast in to victory, but it was simply too tempting. We handed them their butts on a silver platter. One of the last kills was against their inapt Wildcat pilot, I begged Deathly to leave him for me to finish off. Deathly then fired into him, bringing him to a near fatal condition. And as I closed in on the bewildered Wildcat, Deathly added insult to injury, by legging him. All it took was a couple of shots and a couple of quick snips around the fatal feline, and BAM , bye bye Pussy Cat. When the smoke cleared the final score was 12624 to 5023. We are officially WF's worst nightmare. And may they R.I.P. Thanks again for a fun time. <S>
P.S. Please excuse the any over dramatizations or slight inaccuracies, this is my first attempt at this, so over time I hope to improve. LOL, but really, we TOTALLY PAWNED.
